GChrist the Lord is risen today,
DSons of men and angels say:
EmRaise your joys and triumphs high;
CSing, ye heavens, and earth reply.
GLove's redeeming work is done,
DFought the fight, the battle won;
EmLo! the Sun's eclipse is o'er;
CLo! He sets in blood no more.
GVain the stone, the watch, the seal;
DChrist hath burst the gates of hell!
EmDeath in vain forbids His rise;
CChrist hath opened Paradise!
GLives again our glorious King;
DWhere, O death, is now thy sting?
EmOnce He died our souls to save;
CWhere thy victory, O grave?
